Hi all not to much of a post but two things made me stop and think the other day so i though ill post them, ill start with the first one.

1. Just on my way to my mates pub and though i would stop at asda to get some night nurse was feeling a bit ill (aaaahhhhh). Well put the beast (lol) outside asda just by the main entrance near a huge window for extra piece of mind. Got bits, come back out..... there was this cavvy looking fu.k right next to my bike. On his push bike and having a good close look at my bike, now i dont mind as long as he wasn't gonna nick it as i would have a close look at a bike that i liked, i think it was the facked that he looked about 15/16 and very cavvy that made me a bit WTF are you doing. Spoke to him for a bit and he come out with "yeah im a motorbike mechanic, I've got a 500 ???". Im not saying he was bullsh'ting me but he looked about 15/16 was sitting on his push bike, i felt like saying lets have a go then. So im thinking he might of wanted to nick it and just made some sh't up knowing that i would beet the fu/k out of him..........

2. Well spet most of the day at my mates, left about 11:00pm. Car was following me but was quite far back, i dont know what it is but i can smell pork a mile away..... i didn't have any "losser" plates on so i made shore my rideing was spot on center of lane, shoulder checks, life savers, e.c.t. Got stoped about 2 miles on, the copper very friendly and the convo went like this:

ME: alright, how can i help
Copper: Hi sorry to stop you but just thought it was strange a 125 without any L plates, i take it you have a full licence.
ME: (ahhh Fu.k) Yeah.
ME: i have a 125 because its my first bike and didn't want a big bike coz of that fact and the weather is not that great this side of the year.
Copper: thats no problem whats your name and address mate:
ME: *my name and address*

well he radios in and gets back that i have a full licence (this is true i have a full CAR licence).............

Copper: ok thanks, can you just check for motorbike entitlement.
Me: * FAAAARRRRRTTT (i had just filled my pants) *

At this point a lorry pulled up and asked for directions, I stood to the side of my bike while the copper taked to te driver and also got a call from where ever he asked about my licence.

Copper: Its all fine mate you have checked out, i just need to give you a ticket to say i pulled you over.
Me: No problem cheers mate, bye

Ok so what happend hear then, i have a CBT and a full car licence im 25 so i have to do the full test to ride without losser plates???

Shall i go and get me a R6 or something lol only joking. Laughing

So what ya think of them 2 then Laughing Question

Seeing that you asked...

Now I see why you call them 'loser' plates... not having them's made you a 'loser' Smile.

Seems you were lucky this time, but I presume won't learn from your lesson (or just aren't bothered about getting points)... as you well know, being let off once won't mean they will a second time.

I think the term "losser plates" comes from having them on the bike Rolling Eyes

Allso when i first had my cbt about year 2000 i think yes i got points but i was young and stupid, i didn't have losser plates that time coz i just gave the beast a clean up and forgot to put them on. But as the convo goes with the copper i didn't get let off as such, he checked my details and said everything checks up???? not "ok mate ill let you off this time.............."

G - please read the post before you post ta.. Rolling Eyes

I think he knew that and was making a quip...

If you're stupid enough to have got 9 points already for not having 'loser' plates on then you were bloody lucky not getting another three for your collection.

My Thoughts

You were lucky, happens now and again but do yourself a favour and get some L plates or get your test done.

Oh and use the spell check button..its your friend Smile

Sounds the copper checked you had a full license, and then checked that you had motorcycle entitlement - both of which you do! He just failed to check that you had full motorcycle entitlement (rather than full car with provisional motorcycle).

Very lucky if you ask me.

Yes, I did read your post, much as that’s possible ‘qwerty killer’ Smile.

As AJI suggests; yes I suspect the term ‘loser’ plates comes from those most probably taking the piss out of learners in a light hearted manner. Being terribly politically correct, it’s not a very good term to my mind.
Some people that do have full licences as well as those that don’t I’m sure do see them as some sort of sign of ‘lower’ status. However I’m sure no ‘real’ biker, or not one I’d respect anyway, would look down on someone because they had L plates on.

You got caught and didn’t get done, so to my mind you were ‘let off’, whatever the reason. It may not happen next time so to my mind you’d be silly not to put them on., as it could easily just be the person on the other end of the phone being half-asleep, the policeman deciding he couldn’t be bothered with the paperwork, etc.
But <shrugs>, it's your licence Smile.

yeah i agree, u got lucky, but dont assume you will always be lucky

if were still on my provisional, and was too lazy to get an L plate. (i was for a while), and if i got caught (i didnt) i would just say it must have fallen off which would give the copper the chance to tell me off and let me go. He couldnt know i was lying.

If I were to say I had full entitlement when i didnt, and the copper found out, he could quite easily want to throw the book at me for lying.

I think you just got lucky that when he rang in, the person checking didnt know how to do their job.
