Hi,

I'm getting back into bikes after a year out and want to decide between these two.^^

can anyone give me a little more info comparing the gsxr k5 1000 and the k6 750. Are they pretty much the same frame, size, weight or are they completly different.

any help is appreciated...

I'm not well versed in sports bikes but RiDE and BIKE say the 750 is better, blending the power of the 1L (almost) with the handling of the 600, MCN review them both as excellent bikes:

GSX-R1000 K5/6
GSX-R750 K6

I have a k5 750 and find it capable of both fast a road blasts and motorway cruising

I have the K5 1000. The only place you will really notice much difference is in a straight line (unless you are a riding god), the 1000 will leave the 750 quite easily. A mate who has the 750 and myself, are pretty well matched in terms of riding ability. At Silverstone there was nothing in it in the corners but I lost him on hanger straight Smile

I only got the 1000 as I take a pillion regularly and it makes life easier.

Firstly people who say a 750 will keep up with a 1000 are talking out their ass.

The only place a 750 will keep up is in the corners, once you get a bit of straight away the 750 is dead. You will be leaving the corner as the 750 gets in to it.

Get the 750 if you want a fun bike.

Get the 1000 if you wnat a really fun bike.

750 feels like a 1000 with less torque.
