Rear tyre mounted incorrectly?

Hi,

Just had a new pair of tyres fitted to my bike. Been out on it today and have noticed that it feels as if the bike bobs up and down a slight amount at slow speeds only, it stops at around 30mph. I dont think it did this before. Had a look at the rear tyre and noticed that the line around the sidewall is a little further away from the rim then it is at other points. Was wondering if anyone knew whether this is normal? Do they ever fit on the rim so the line is exactly the same distance away from the rim all the way round the tyre? I know they pump the tyre up quite high to pop the seem onto the rim, is it possible they just didnt pump it up enough?

I have attached some photos off my phone which arnt the best but give a little indecation of how much difference there is.

go and take some better photos.

And it could be your rim is buckled rather than an issue with the tyre fitting...

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Well the lines are there to help the fitter ensure the tyre has seated properly.
Sometimes this means using extreme pressure to pop it out.
A bit of lube along the rim helps it slide into place.
If it still just won't go, a bit of 'normal use' might help, getting warm, going over a few bumps etc.
If it handles OK unlikely to be a big problem in practice.

I'd go back and ask at the people who fitted it. It doesn't sound right.

I agree with Vin - take it back and ask them to re-seat the tyre.
