blue smoke is normal from a 2-stroke, if its excessive check that the oil pump is set correctly.

On yamaha scooters there should be a splitter in the throttle cable follow the oil cable from the splitter and there should be a set-up with two nuts. (like on a push bike brake cable)

Pump will be under a cover somewhere, could be cable has snapped and its running full on.
Have a look in the Manual thread there maybe a link to one in there, failing that a google may bring one up.

the pump has no cable its just 2 pipes 1 from the mixing tank and the other is to the carb, the pump is driven by a cog.

Lights and starter sounds like a fuse issue. Might be a inline fuse thats blown.

Idling for 30 mins may not be enough to 'warm' the bike up properly. Try giving it a 5min run giving it a bit of beans in that time. Also if it in a 'enclosed' space then it is likely to get very smokey, this is the case in my carport at home. Hope this helps. Thumbs Up

Used to have smoke all the time, until i flushed my whole system and started using either esso highgrade 2stroke bout 8 pound a bottle or castrol 2T

That's probably your problem, it needs a good run to clear everything out. The exhaust may need de-coking now as well. No bike should be left idling for that long, 2stroke or 4 as it will cause damage.

Mmm.....why don't you remove the silencer, and place it in a raging bonfire for at least an hour. I do mean raging, not just marshmellow toasting heat. Get the thing properly hot.

You may find that carbon and oil has built up in side it. This treatment will dry it out to the extent that it will break up and fall out of the silencer easily.

Beat it with a stick once it has cooled off to loosen the clag inside, refit it and I'll have a fiver on the fact that it doesn't smoke anymore.

When I was working in the bike shop we had an oil drum out back for burning off 'smokey' 2 stroke exhausts.

Obviously not buy a new one,
just take the current one off, and throw some caustic soda down it make sure the ends are bunged up and your wearing gloves etc.

Hardware shops will sell that soda, its like a really strong bleach kind of substance mix it with water and it can remove limescale and grime etc, so put that mixture in ur pipe, shake it about, leave for about 2 hours, drain all the liquid out, and then get a stick or something and push it and poke to get out and hard stuck on dirt.

Burning it out is a 1000% better then the old causic soda trick, gets it completely clean where as the soda reacts, gets overwhelmed by the amount of oil then stops working. Wink
