Cleaning up and preparing for touring

Hi I recently bought a GPZ500S with 25K and some service history as my first big bike. I'm hoping to prepare the bike for a 4000mile trip through Europe in June this year.

First thing is to start cleaning the bike. I'd love to get it just half as clean as some of Craigs23's machines but really don't know where start.

The bike currently has a Nexxus 2-in1 exhaust and Bridgestone BT45 tires.

The guy I bought it from mentioned that the chain and sprokets could do with replacing before I set off on my travels, what's you opinion?

How about the tyres?

The front looks a bit more worn than the back

The bike looks much cleaner in the photo's, in real life it looks a little tired.

Sprocket looks fine, can't tell about the play in the chain though.

Tyres look good.
