The populace has complete power. Politicians only have assumed power.

What I mean is, politicians cannot run a country themselves. It is possible to have a revolution without a single drop of blood being spilt on either side. All it takes is for people to take a stand, all of us, stop what we're doing, bring the country to a standstill. But I don't doubt for a second that politicians would be the first to start the violence.

I've heard stories of infiltrators getting into peaceful protests and encouraging violence, thereby giving the police an excuse to "kill 'em aaaaall".
