KR1S, excellent condition all round bar the motor. It needs a new crank (old one is bent) and bottom end bearings/seals/gaskets. The barrels and pistons are all fresh and I have the spares to do the top end.

Any idea what it is worth? it has been sat in my shed for over a year and it belongs to a mate. I don't think I can afford to buy it and repair it so it would be nice to know what he could get for it as encouragement to get it out of my way!

2 years ago l sold a mint 12,000 mile one for £1500 so say about £600 for one with a fucked engine.

Get the crank rebuilt as 2nd hand ones and look fine but its only when you first start the engine after a rebuild you notice the seals leak.

I am afraid it isn't my bike to sell, I just needed a value to see what my friend thinks. I can't even get hold of him nowadays so god knows when that will be.

Cheers tatters, I think he picked it up for a grand. I was expecting a little less than that.

A KR1S in good nick seems to vary wildly in value, I also have one in the garage so I keep a cursory eye on Ebay to look for spares/donors on occasion. In the last few weeks I've seen good examples go for anywhere between £800 and £1300.

I'd say Tatters is right Thumbs Up
