hi i have a aprilia rs 125 00 model, i bought it with a gineli exhaust on the bike but the other day blew a massive hole in it, ive change it back to the orignal one and the bike is slow, only rev to about 8000 rpm and power band wont kick in, is there any way i can remove the restricter, as i would rather not have to fork out £200 for a exhaust

thanks for any help.

Where the exhaust meets the manifold there will be a washer held in by a few spot welds. Drill these welds out and pull the washer out.

Job done.

Hi

Don't think the RS125 has ever had a restrictor in the exhaust (OK, some of the newer ones are a pretty useless design with a cat stuffed in there).

Most likely what has happened is that your powervalve has stuck closed.

All the best

Keith

well the original exhaust looks the same as the other one i had on the hole where the exhaust meets the manifold is the same, the exhaust is alot heavier than the gineli one,

can you recomend a good place to get a new exhaust and wat make.

dont think the power valve is stuck shut as it was perfect before i change the exhaust and if i put the old one back on its fine again.

Hi

Can you check the main jet size?

The original exhaust should work fine above 8000rpm . Possible that it is a cat one and the cat has collapsed.

All the best

Keith
