Well I've finally got the finger out, to treat my beloved 14 to a full strip down and rebuild. I've been through four winters with her and it's taken it's toll.

So frame and two sets of wheels off to powder coaters on Monday (hopefully) to get blasted and painted (one set of wheels in white and the other in black).

I will then start cleaning everything else and it'll take me a while as it's all in pretty shitty condition.

All bolts came out easily enough, apart from two side panel bolts which I had to drill out and the centre stand which I had to cut out Shocked

Rear axle is currently solid and won't move, spacers and caliper hanger have corroded onto the wheel spindle ... may eventually have to cut wheel free!!

Anyhoo, I'll post up the clean up and rebuild over the next month or so.

All the best ... Barry

P.S. Once she's rebuilt I'll make sure she stays pristine.

This was the attempt to remove the centre stand, heat and loads of WD40 ... no chance, all rusted solid!!

Good project,

Are you aiming to get it looking mint or just a lot tidier? Is it an 03? (can see a reg plate in the background)

Can't believe how sorry it's looking!

Intending getting it looking as good as I possibly can, and yes it's an 03' with about 46k miles on the clock.

With regards build quality ... well going through four/five winters without being washed down after using every day to/from work would tend to make any bike look a bike shitty.

Exhaust system is stainless so should polish up nicely, everything else I'll strip/paint/polish.

Got the new shocks today, nice set of Hagon Nitro shocks ... stainless body and spring.

I also intend posting pics up as and when I work on each of the bits, right up to the rebuilt bike ... which will then be looked after properly this time.

I'm just glad when I had my new yokes made (I did the design in a CAD package in about 2 days) that I had them black anodised ... they'd have been in a terrible state if I had polished them.

All the best ... Barry
