Hard to explain in words and also quite hard to master, but......

Once its up, just as you go to change gear, give it one last rev i.e so it does up a bit further, then change gear. Easier to change gear without the clutch cause it all happens very quickly. As it goes up that bit further when about to change gear, the bike will come down a bit, but as you've given it that extra bit it should hold up!

By the way, how many fingures do you use to fllick the clutch? odd question, but I always use one finger on the clutch lever..

It takes a lot more practice to use clutchless shifting on a storm. To start with zimm was getting it up in [edit]first [/edit] then using the clutch to get it into second.
Think he's clutchless shifting after clutching it up in 2nd now.

Right, Zimma to the rescue Laughing

that was a clutched up second gear wheelie, that stayed in second for the whole strip Smile
Normally I get it up in first and change to second and third (have done fourth before)
I think I use three fingers on the clutch for getting it up? I'll get back to you on that as I don't really pay much attention to my fingers Smile
Now the main bit, to change gear, as you are about to hit the limiter pull the clutch kick the gear and put the throttle back on.... bet you thought it was gonna be harder than that Smile
Thats the way I do it all the time, I never do clutchless shifts for some reason, I think it's just habit of pulling the clutch.
Dunno about you but on the storm I don't use full throttle to keep the bike up in any gear, so when you change gear make sure you dont pull the throttle all the way back on, else you will end up falling off the back as it comes up higher.

Any more questions?

Chers,
I KNEW it was second, !! I need to practice balance methinks, I can only get about 30 yards, then it either threatens to over the back, or comes down again, I dont have a problem getting it up, just changing gear,
(goes to find dry road to play on)
Ta
Cool

On the 6, hover at about 10k in first and crack the throttle all the way, the front should lift up easily. After youve cracked it open make sure you shut the throttle to 3/4 while it's lifting, or it may threaten to toss you off the back. 3/4 throttle should be enough to hold you up at the balance point Smile

Once you get used to it you can back off and pull it on at about 7k, which means you're starting slower and have more power to 'use up' balancing it etc.

On any bike I've found if you compress the forks slightly (kinda half jump down on the foot pegs, you can do this while still sitting) then pull the poer on it also helps. This has the same effect as tapping the brake.
