I recently got done by a forward facing mobile van, must have clocked my plate as I went by and officers in the van could of evidenced this so no get out clause there. Think was about 70 in a 50.

However, my licence has come back with offence code TS10. My insurance company tells me this is a traffic light offence, and I know I haven't committed one of them!

So I'm wondering is there anyway this mistake can be used to my advantage at all?

Many thanks

hmm, tricky. Maybe. Seek legal advice.

Send something like pepipoo.com an email.

That is a major clerical error and on that basis the ticket and the offence must be revoked.

You will need to write to the Central Ticket Office that processed the original ticket, point out the error of their ways and ask them to deal with it and for your licence to be returned to its original state.

A copy of the same letter to DVLA won't go amiss either (make sure that you quote your licence number)

What are the chances they will just change it to an SP50 or whatever it should be?

do not mention the original offence. Just say that you have a TS10 that never happened and you would like it removed.

Sorry to hijack.
I was caught doing 90 on a motorway, when i got my licience back it had an sp10 on it- speeding in a goods vehicle. I was in the car at the time. Surely that should have been an sp30? Is it worth writing to the central ticket office regarding this?

Thanks
