oh - woops. sorry i just re-read it, i read the accessories and assumed that was the sort of 'pack contains' list.
my mistake !
deffinatley a good deal - i'd have one but not much good for recording on the TV cos i dont have the longer videos - i'll get the one which records to an SD card with motion sensor (cost £100 but easier)

When payday arrives ill be pottering along to pick up a couple and a light.

Did you buy one, any good?

Ebuyer have a wireless Infra red version which is £29.99 +postage. Not 100% waterproof though but good in a garage, under a car port or similar.

https://www.ebuyer.com/product/106012

Also a waterproof wireless day and night for £33.99

I fancy one (or more) that broadcast over WiFi to the computer, rather than to their own dedicated receiver. Unfortunately, very few of them are suitable for use outdoors, and I haven't found one yet that is both suitable for outdoor use and runs from batteries for a decent length of time.

I have two front and rear of the property.

To be frank they are shite.

You need to spend at least £100 to get reasonable res. They work OK and pick up the image but for what use I don't know.
Unless you just put it near a door where you can be about 3mtrs from the subject. Other than that they're shite (Sorry for repeating that).

If you are SERIOUS about needing decent CCTV....
Go to a site that specifically deals in it.

SWAN are the ones I have hooked up to a 250Bigagite hard disc and monitor. The weak link in the system are both cameras... Crying or Very sad

Mine is set up for motion detection but records constantly....?????

Not much help in the destruction manual but I am guessing there is some conflict between the Wireless radio signal and the receivers and the record motion sensor control. ???
I think I will upgrade to hard wire. The wfi is a bit pointless as you still need to run a power supply to the camera anyway. Shocked

I bookmarked this a while back:

https://www.zoneminder.com/

still haven't had a chance to try it yet, but keeping it in mind for the future.

You can pick up analog capture cards for peanuts off ebay now and if they'll work with this software then I'm guessing it would be possible to set up a fairly good cctv system for not much money.

Might be a bit better than simply recording to dvds or videos, and I think it has remote monitoring (so you can view the feeds and control things over the web, be sent alerts etc. when you're not at home).

Saw this ip camera and thought it might be an easier route....
https://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=221985&criteria=ip%20camera%20wireless&doy=21m3

if i buy a normal wireless cctv kit i've then got to buy dvr card to connect it to my pc which is another 20 quid off ebay. So why not just get a camera set up for a pc?

if a do get ya bike knicked and plod comes round, unless you have the date and time on ya footage it is rendered useless.
Some of the cheaper ones don't have it.
but saying that if you want take the law into your own hands then fire away. Very Happy

I have a basic hardwired system hooked up to a Time Lapse VCR. the camera is in my window with signs in the cars. I have a date/time stamp on the picture.

Although it's ancient in the world of CCTV, it has a just about watchable picture and i've used it in 2 incidents. The police were more than pleased with my footage.

Total cost of the whole lot was about £150 from Ebay in 2001. I'm now looking into upgrading it as the VCR has nearly 20000 hours on it.

PS, B&W cameras have superior night vision compared to colour cameras which need a good light source. I just use the streetlights and get a decent picture.
