I've just bought a TomTom Rider and need to wire it up to take a feed from the bike (Yamaha FZS6 2005) when the ignition is on. You have to take off the tank and part of the fairing to get to the battery!

What's the best way of doing this? I'm not too good at tinkering so any help will be gratefully received.

Using the rear brake switch to feed a relay is a common solution. Search on here for heated grips and relay and you'll find a fair few post that explain how.
