brake lever has numbers

on my brake lever at the front it has a dial with the numbers 1 2 3 4. what is this for?

Span adjuster. It sets the lever different distances from the handlebar so you can adjust it to what feels best.

To adjust, push the lever forwards (i.e. the wrong way) and turn the dial.

For example, my brake lever is on 1 (very responsive) and my clutch is on 4 (less distance to travel to change gear).

Coolige. It's on my list of mods the Trike to make it easier for my Partner to ride.

Sadly they cost a bloody fortune.

How so? They're OE equipment on some bikes

Aye but Brembo and Yoshimura kit is OE on some bikes.

The ones I've seen have been around the £65 a lever mark

Hein Gericke do "universal" ones for £9.99 each, go in on your bike/trike and check them out they'll let you take them outside and size them up. Thumbs Up

Now that is cheap as chips, universal standard levers don't tend to be much cheaper than that.
