Hi people. Thought i'd post a few piccies of my bike and introduce myself while I am at it! Yeah I have been riding 200 miles a week since July last year, had a Honda c90 (whey! - wheelie machine!) until November when I passed my test and got a Cb250RS. 1980 with 17000 miles on the clock for £850 with 12 months T&T, new oil and fork seals. It had a recent Motad system and two very good Pirelli MT65's. So a bloody bargain if you ask me! It is certainly clean for a 28 year old bike! Urr oh and I got buggered for doing a whopping 36mph by a mobile camera unit, but luckily no points because of Driver awareness course Dance! Anyway there you go take it easy people!

EDIT: Sorry, I should of put this in the pictures forum Embarassed

Very nice bike. Don't suppose you want to sell it any time soon?

mabey a stupid question but why does doing a drivers awareness course avoid points on your license? Question

Sometimes if you get flashed doing a small amount over the speed limit (34 in a 30 for example) you MAY be offered a choice of either 3 points and a £60 fine or a drivers awareness course at the cost of £60 instead of the points.

Ha ha, I think the waiting lists would be huge if it gave immunity to points and speeding tickets!!

Only just noticed this thread!

Nice bike Rob, that's spankily clean for a 1980 version. Thumbs Up

Your centre stand isn't made of rust, for starters!!! Laughing

Enjoy, and watch those cameras. Police Sad

I wrote a letter along with it so I don't know if that helped or not. I know someone that got caught doing the same and they did not get offered it, but then this was by an actual speed camera, not a camera car.

Thanks for the replies

main rust point on the frame is just below the rear engine mount, the barrel section holding the 2 sides together above the centre stand. shouldn't be an issue, just keep an eye on it.

bolts on the top end are common to leak a bit of oil, no biggie, and if you want to seal it up then you can unwind the bolts, silicone them and drop them back in. i just use it as a way of knowing theres oil getting to the top end.

looks like a good un though, good find.

Cheers
John

p.s. i wont tell you mine was only 160 quid Wink
