my mates dad is going to imola with his son..hes asked me if i wanna tag along. Its a ducati advanced (i know its italy it dont matter) rider day thingy. anyways trying to get info outta them is like drawing blood from a stone, anyone know what the age restrictions will be and if theyll let me do it on my restricted licence

i ride which is why i wanna do this....its intention is to make better riders like they have over here where they teach you stuff etc etc. im only 17 and need some more experience, plus the fact they are monster 800's!. not many 17 year olds are "good" riders, that takes years of spills near misses and some "growing up" to be good. well there will be many posts disagreeing with that........but it depends on your definition of good really. im a safe rider who was oblivious to the fact that car drivers could be so thick as to good i was confident enough..i couldnt wheelie or anything but i like my fairings intact! im not very good at that stuff but i wouldnt imagine that falls under good riders. it isnt really advanced but intermediate! the advanced is a racing school sort of thing

I doubt they'll let you do it mate. Being:-
A) only 17
B) on a restricted licence
C) never ridden anything bigger than your NSR, have no idea about riding a 800 and have not undertaken any kind of training before.

why dont you...

1. sort out your new bike
2. get used to it
3. go to a racing/ advance riding school in this country
4. ride more and more and more

And i guess you would need to look up what the laws are about UK licenses being valid over there. If your license equates to being a full one over there, then I dont see why that wont stop you. and assuming you can get a parent to sign the forms, they might let you go on it. but it would be money better spent doing it here imho

yeah i doubt italians are as much safety conscious as we are, i mean they didnt have to wear helmets on mopeds till recently. i have to be 18 to ride the roads, ill be 18 by then anyway...the beginners is for women only ste. plus my mates going who a) doesnt have a licence yet, b) wont be 18 by that time! i was asking if anyon had done this sort of thing before really not if ishould go and if i was ok to do it
