well im afraid my ignition is messed up and I think it is the barrel so by a process of elimination, if it works when hotwired, the problem is in the barrel and if not, its somewhere else.

Thanks for the info.

Does anyone know what the resistances should be on the coil on a leonelli stator plate wires. e.g white and green etc etc

Thanks

How do we know that you haven't nicked some poor fellas bike, and you don't know how to hotwire it, so have asked us lot for help.

My yammy xt125 ignition barrel is fubared, going in on tuesday for diagnosis (aparently because they are so expensive, they have to make sure it is the barrel before they order one.....still getting done under warranty whether they like it or not!)

you know because I have made quite a few posts over the last few weeks/months about this bike as I am having trouble with it.

I have got the keys, just sparking issue is weird and want to bypass the barrel to see if it is that. At the moment it looks like a new barrel or new coils as I happen to have a spare CDI unit which I swapped and the both do the same thing. Thats why I want to bypass the key system.

Anyway, if I had nicked some guys bike, there is no need to hotwire, there are a couple of screws under the barrel which when removed expose something you can twist with a screwdriver to engage the ignition. Security on this bike is not brilliant!

This is what we're getting at we might well be telling you to fix your bike, but its also potentially telling you how to go steal other bikes =/

although i do know how haha Laughing

yeah i know the whole security thing.

also, my bike looks like a shed atm so don't think anyone would bother stealing it lol Laughing

Do you understand now, this is an old model derbi senda from 1999 and don't even know if the ignition barrels work the same as modern ones!

As many experience bikers may know, hotwiring older 50cc motorbike/mopeds is not rocket science. Just mine is more complex than anything i've ever taken apart before so thats why i was asking.

Anyway, anyone got what the resistance should be from the different wires, white-green-red, blue-brown, green-yellow
its leonelli btw

thanks

If it really is your bike, it is likely that you have a haynes for it. See wiring diagram and use your nonce.

I have no manual. I got it off this guy who gave me the V5 and some warranty booklet which is of no use anymore.

I have a wiring diagram somewhere actually but I don't understand it really. Ill have a closer look.

Thanks

on closer inspection, the diagram says cross the "R" (red) wire and the "R/B" which I presume is red and black. I will try that tomorrow and post results.

Thanks

Take a picture of the V5 and blank out all your details apart from your name and obviously the bike. Then you will probably get people helping you.

I will try the wires I got on my wiring diagram first. If that doesn't work, I will post my V5 as you said.
