I expect you're used to having the piss ripped out of you about the Harley.

So you'll be pleased to know that its no different here.

Although SOME people on BCF are able to appreciate them in the correct context Laughing

So ... "Velcro", huh?

Does the handle relate to your hairstyle, or your method of removing your carpet slippers?

Would that be the "Broken down at the side of the road" context, or the "Sitting in the accountant's garage and only ridden precariously on sunny Sundays" context?

The public has a right to know.

Well, lets see now, there's:

* The "I have a custom Harley but it took me a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get it looking good, I emptied dustbins for 30 years to afford this custom job, so I ride it with considerable pride but I don't brag about how much it cost me" context.

* The "I have a Harley and my friend (who happens to be a famous "builder" and who I have known since school, not who I met and exchanged business cards with in the Hard Rock Cafe "Biker" Night Extravaganza) has helped me get it looking good" context.

* ... or the more humble "I have a piece of shit Harley which I have to push home on a regular basis but I love it like an old friendly pair of pyjama bottoms" context.

Top to toe Harley-DavidsonTM apparel wearers, fringe-and-concho-decorators, chaps-sporters, and shiny-pudding-bowl-disguised-as-"German"-helmet-wearers and people whose internet nicknames are "DragonFairyQueen", "AngelKiss", "ChiefWhereEaglesRoam" or "GreyWolfofFreedomnPeace" may find themselves the butt of considerable derision.

I'm getting a Harley because I've lost the will to live.

I wouldn't mind one of the big big 2.4L harleys when I'm older and want a more sedated life. But to be fair in 35 years (52) we probably will no longer have bikes.
