Smashing bikes mate my missus had one from new in 1990 until i traded it for my ZZR11 in1998 (so i could keep my Gpz 11 unitrak for sprinting --she wasnt amused )and it never missed a beat in 29000 miles including me doing about 10000 of those wringing its neck .It even handles better than folk expect and is a very neutral beasty to ride .We fitted a Motad Datum stainless steel 2 into 1 on hers and it sounded ace . Enjoy it theyre a nice bike mate. ____________________ Kiss my ASS im gone. current ZX12R previous ZZR1100,Gpz1100 uni,GT750,VT500,CX500

My first bike was a GPZ500S.
It's a great bike and it handles well too.
Had mine for about a year and it blew 2 starters so i got rid of it. Sure do miss it though =/
Hope you get a lot of fun out of this one
Edit: That sounded awful. I didn't get rid of it "just" because it blew the starter twice. I was wanting a bigger bike aswell. |

Absolutely loved my 1992 one, bought on 13k, sold on 42k and used daily. They will cover loads of miles with basic maintanence
Keep an eye on the oil level and measure the consumption if any as worn engines can drink it up (dont be fooled by low milers, some have been wringed from brand new).
Have a look at the downpipes and collector box area and if needed now, give it a hit with a wire brush and a nice coating in exhaust paint to protect it from rot. They can be prone to this.
Your's looks ace! ____________________ Check out our tackle shop on Facebook:
