Well I'm sorry, but she is - and I speak as no oil painting myself. It takes one to know one, and all that!

It is all like a rather bad episode of Shameless.

Compared to this lot, the Shameless mob have class.

What a pack of chavscum. The more that comes out in this case, the more I think "council estate mentality" - and thats not a criticism of council estates and social housing: I live in social housing myself these days.

Its just the MENTALITY that I am referring to.

I mean, FFS ... the mother looks like a stand-in for Waynetta Slob (and I'm no oil painting EITHER) but she makes Mimi McGuire look like Mary Poppins Shocked

The mentality of people like the Matthews family are exactly the reason most of my neighbours think I am a stuck-up snob Laughing

Aw dont bring Shameless into it, I like that show Laughing

I dont need to say an awful lot more about this because everyone else has said it for me. Glad they are getting their come up ins, feel sorry for that kid though having to go through that. Not everyone in a council estate is like that, some poeple so have morals still.

I quite agree.

For example, it could be considered by the general public - and the News of the World, LOL ... that my moral IQ might be quite low, working in the industry I do.

But there's quite a difference between having morals (believing in a set of particular principles) ... and having moral fibre (i.e., the balls to back up what you believe in with positive and carefully considered action).

No doubt all the Matthews family probably say they have morals, and no doubt they do believe in many moral codes that most of us can understand and relate to - such as "noncing is bad" - which practically the entirety of the population would agree with.

But how they have dealt with whoever might be the nonce, is entirely another matter and shows that whilst they might have morals, they clearly have very little moral fibre.

'Shameless' eh?

Thinking

Quote:
The Daily Telegraph understands that officers are examining alleged similarities between Shannon's disappearance and a storyline from the Channel 4 drama series Shameless shown in the month before the nine-year-old vanished.

In it, the teenage daughter of Frank Gallagher, the head of a dysfunctional family, staged the fake kidnap of his youngest son, Liam, in an attempt to obtain a £500,000 ransom. All along, Liam was hidden a few doors away with a friend of his sister.

As for those Matthews lot : line em all up in stocks, and throw rancid lard at them. Bunch of dysfunctional twonks.

Ken posted a Shameless thread a while back, but nobody bit (and at that point I had not got back "into" it).

Good grief. I've not seen that Liam-Kidnap episode at all.
(must go and get the box set, like I've been promising myself for about three weeks now, LOL)

I managed to watch the whole of Season 1 (all at once) - possibly also part of Season 2.

Then I missed almost all of the next 2 seasons, and I only started watching it again, halfway through this season on and off until about a month ago (or maybe around the bit where Frank had to decide between Sheila and Monica).

I've totally not seen the Liam-kidnap one.

Having read that Telegraph article, I can see why Waynetta Matthews might have done what it seems she might have, i.e., organising with the uncle to get the girl away from her creepy boyfriend and then bottling out on leaving the boyfriend ... but the lack of moral fibre comes not only from alerting the police that the girl had gone missing, AND going on the telly to howl about it, knowing full well where the kid was, but also from not saying "Okay, guys, stop the search, here's what really happened: we're dysfunctional, we fukked up and we need help." before things all got so out of hand.

Still, sub-neanderthal chavscum.

I have missed the last series but seen all of this one. I think we need to get to the dvd shop and rent some box sets out Hellkat Mr. Green I will be doing that, need something to watch. Cant wait till tonight though, should be good.

Trying to stay sort of on topic here to:

The Matthews, stupid poeple who thought they could get thousands out of the media over missing kid. Are not as smart as the McCanns in this and not enough money and good jobs to fool people into thinking they could never do it. A lot think they Mccanns didnt do it because they are professional people who are well off (dont fool me) Matthews are not well off and will be looked down upon and see right through. Funny how that works. Neutral

I did see the one when Liam was kidnapped but had forgot about it. It is the general demeanour of the Matthews "family" with there various paedo uncles and chav kids modelling knock off Burbery and swigging special brew for breakfast.
There was a documentary on C4 about the period the girl was missing, it was strange that the step father never spoke a word to camera and kept his hand over the PC screen every time the film crew got near to him. There was an odd sub human boy in the house that had a big scar on his head, presumably from where they took his brain out.

The funniest one was with the gay lad having a BJ from his dog, I was in tears at the end.
(note, this is a shameless reference and is intended as no slight on the Matthews "family" why are all far to ugly to be able to pull a dog for some oral.)

The screws, if it's breakfast time? Sure - I know I have a bacon and egg banjo every morning after I take my handover.

I think most HMP's are just dishing out breakfast packs with cereal and stuff in it, rather than dishing up a fry-up.
