 |
|
Hi.
Just been thinking. I have 3 points on my car liscence at the moment which I have had for over 3 years, nearly 4.
I have just passed my bike test and I have another 3 points coming after getting caught by a camera over easter.
I was just wondering now that technically I have 6 points on my liscence and I have only just passed my bike test, this won't ban me from biking will it?

You need to think of it as a single license but with additional entitlements. This is how it works. If you loose your license you loose all you entitlements with it. If you do something to get your license back it is returned to you with all your entitlements.
As already said the 2 year 6 point rule only applies to new license holders. You've had yours for quite some time.
Thanks

Most points only count in the legal system for 3 years. You can pay to have them removed from your license for 4 years, and Ins. Companies normally want to know about them for 5 years.
But like others have said the 6 point rule is only from your first test if you passed after a certain date (I'm an old git so not sure exactly from when) so you are doubly safe. |
