I know a few people that own a z1000, they all seem to love them, me personally, I don't like Kawasaki s, but that is just down to personal choice. I do like the look of it in titanium though.

I want Z1000S for long journey. Z1000 with extended meter visor doesn't look good.

i suspect that if you test rode both bikes, you might change your mind

test rides are a good idea before buying a bike

Am I the only person that thought of this

https://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Photos/Kawasaki_Z1B_11.jpg

When I read the title?

Quite probably, especially seeing as its a Z1 not a Z1000. Think it looks better though Wink

No offence but when someone mentions the Z1000 why would you think of a bike that has a big 900 on the side of it? Laughing

'Cos it's a Z1... and I was dazed, drunk and confused Laughing

Feck knows why Kawasaki called their 900cc bike a Z1 mind!

First thing I thought of was the Z1, a proper bike, old school muscle. Thumbs Up

Looking at the sidepanel badges that might actually be a Z900.

Think a good Z1 or Z900 might be a bit out of his price range mind Confused

A Z900 is a Z1 the one and the same. Wink

Not quite. A Z1 is the original 903cc inline 4 which (from memory) ran from 1973 - 75. The Z900 that superseeded it is outwardly the same bike but they have different graphics, twin discs as standard and make quite a bit less power due to smaller carbs and airbox restrictions. The Z1 did 130+ when it was first tested, while a Z900 is good for around 120.

Purebreed Z1's are so expensive it hurts, Z900's are just quite pricey!!!

I think you are right, it's a z900. Was the first decent pic that came up when I typed Z1 into google though!

It's prettier than the new one Whistle

Maybe but any Z900 that pulled onto the pub carpark back in the 70/early80's was known as the mighty Z1. Wink
