I was thinking about how much you all suck about an hour ago.... Yep, every one of you low-life selfish sods hiding and chuckling behind your monitors.... Well it's not gonna work. I'm going to let the cat outta the bag for the new blood that doesn't know yet.

Hailstones hurt.

Not like the poncey way they did when you used to run away from them in the school playground, but when they're pinging off your scrotal areas and your neck at 75mph they sting like a fucking whip. And let me just say, screaming like a girl does NOTHING to help the pain.

And it doesn't get much better when you slow down in town. And have to pull out around a line of parked cars. And do what the instructor (the bastard - he's as bad as the rest of you...) told me to do and do a 'lifesaver'... Lifesaver my arse.

All they're designed to do is get as much cold, wet hail as far down your back as possible.

I hope you're all happy now.

(on the plus side though, hail on the ground is a fucking GRIN to ride through!)

I rode through hail, snow and whatever else was in them mountains on that welsh ride over the weekend.....brrrrrrrr......470 miles...

Hail just bounces off and makes a horrendous noise through your lid, snow turns you into a bike-riding Yeti

Neck-tubes and heated grips are lifesavers in that kind of weather. As is decent thermal kit....

When you put your helmet on, ensure the side with the opening and 'visor' is not on the back of your head. I find this helps.
