Help guys,just doing some work on my wife's scoot an came to take the exhaust off as it's as rotten as a peach,one of the nuts on the downpipe came off as good as gold but the other is well rounded so obviously a spanner or socket is a no go,can't even get in with a junior hacksaw or a nut splitter,anybody got any suggestions please short of a gallon of petrol an torching the bloody thing, it's doing my head in. Mad

Or weld an old spanner onto it.
File it down to the next size.
Footprint wrench or similar.

Buy a new cylinder!

Hi,
dremel a slot in it,
then use impact driver with slot head bit.

Use a 6 faced socket rather than one of these multi face ones (12 I think) so that it grips the nut on the flat face not the corners.

Or if there's enough spare thread on the stud - use 2 nuts on the thread and tighten them up to one another to create a lock nut and try and undo the complete stud rather than the nut.

Buy IRWIN sockets for this purpose ,they have a "spiral"in them that just bites harder into the nut the more you turn ,never failed Thumbs Up
