The bloke who sold me the R1 thought he was clever as it had £1900 worth of outstanding finance on it when i paid him £2500 for it. (He issued a HPi with bike that was done 4 days before finance was taken)

Luck would have it though, the bikes frame number was 002 and once verified by yamaha as the 2nd R1 ever off the production line i sold it for £6300 and paid off the blackhorse finance.

I took a nice photo of the bike, the certificate from yamaha and the wad of cash and sent it to the little twat.

I dismantled the SRAD, especailly with the current prices on srad headlights, forks and discs. Nice paint though.

Nice one, lucky though!

Did you get a response from the guy you bought it from? Bet his face was a right picture once he reaslised that by trying to screw you over he'd screwed himself!

I bought the SRAD from the tit at the same time as the R1. That wasnt on the register though. Someone offered me £740 for the bodykit so couldnt resist. Bought the pair so i could use the srad all year round and the R1 for summer stuff

Oh God no, i didnt pay off the finance, i contacted Blackhorse Ltd and gave all of his details, address etc and paid a £90 fee to have their first charge title order removed from the bike. They then chased him up for the balance with the help of my receipt showing payment of £2500 for the vehicle. When i sold the bike it was still on Hpi reg but with a note showing no title finance. Sold the bike to a collector in Henley on thames.

Once bitten though, always HPi check before hand.

And yes the fuel tank makes a great baps holder if needed.

Pffft...Why go spend thousands on a bike when i can do that for free Very Happy

That R1 is pretty damn sweet though, Wonder where the first one lives now Thinking Much as i love Suzuki's, The SRAD never really appealed to me in terms of looks, But it does look good in the Rizla 'job!
