So there I was filtering down the middle of a dual carriageway of very slow moving to stationary traffic, when suddenly I see a car I'm approaching in the left lane has a dog on the back seat with its head out of the window!! Shocked

It wasn't a small dog (sheepdog cross I think) and by the way it was eyeing me up no way was I gonna filter past within sniffing distance! I ended up staying behind this car for a fair while, and the whole time this dog never even blinked - I swear it was just begging for me to get within nipping distance... Thankfully the driver eventually must have noticed me and pulled right over in their lane and I filtered past, was still too close to the dog for my liking though! Embarassed Laughing

Anyone else come across unusual things in cars getting in your way!?

A roll of carpet which was thrust further out of the window at nearly the last moment by some guy rummaging around in the back of his car while sat in the mother of all motorway jams.
I wasn't very happy as he nearly had me off the bike. Gave him a few choice words but thought better of kicking his head in which was my first reaction when someone tries to kill me. Probably wasn't really his fault, just being a stupid cager without any thought for other road users.

Saw road-head once!

or at least i wasnt completly sure but happened to by total chance (and big lorry) nip back in front of the car to see womans head lifting from the crotch of the man looking ruffled.

Maybe she was just rummaging around for something... but i swear for that split second it looked like...

What got me was that nothing was really moving on the down to one lane M6, but still there were plenty of people about!

Filtering along the M5 a couple of years ago, some major jam had stopped the traffic; drivers weren't going anywhere so a few feckwits decided to hop out of their vehicles and mill around aimlessly.

One truck parked in the centre lane even had its door left wide open - into the lane I was filtering down, while telling these morons to get out of my way.

To my bitter regret, it was only after having ducked under the door and ridden a couple of hundred metres down the road that I realised what I should have done was pop down the locking catch and slammed the door shut, leaving Mr Shit-for-brains Trucker with a bit of a puzzler to while away the rest of his afternoon.

Unfortunately, the situation has never repeated itself since, but I live in hope...

Fence panels hanging out of someones passanger window.. Nails still in place. They were a good foot out the window too. I was going to report him, but after he passed a cop car while going over a roundabout, I realised they obviously couldn't give a toss.

Not filtering, but more stupid drivers!

Filtered to the front of a stationary M4 once, got chatting to some people from Birmingham, they were having a mini picnik in their car, offered me a sandwich and a drink. Good people!

That is exactly the reason I always carry a rolled up news paper in my back pocket. A quick rap on the nose with that will send it packing. Wink

I once had trouble filtering because there was a house in the way.

They were proper fully build houses on the back of a lorry. Made for a rather wide load!

I ducked underneath one of those houses at about 40-50mph just after a crossroads, becuase I wanted to pass and there was an island to the right of it, after I emmerged from the underside of this house on wheels the 5 or so drivers infront were straight into the left side of the road... They obviosly did'nt want any grief Laughing
