Well it took about 8 hours to get it sorted with registration etc and travelling back through grid locked Sydney at snails pace to pick it up but it's finally in the garage out back looking all shiny n stuff.

It's a 05 zx636r in Candy plasma blue......who the fark comes up with these colours ?

Anyway since riding the 99 model this thing feels so much lighter and nimble its not funny.
The thing simply drops in to corners with little to no effort and holds its line as it begs for more.
Right now though I'm getting used to it and since I haven't ridden alot of late my clutch hand is killing me after 2 full days on it.

I've also noticed that since it's relatively small I feel like I'm sitting with my head over the front of the screen. Quite disconcerting at first but you get used to it.

As for the general ride and feel compared to the 99.
It's much more raw and you really know it's under you once you're up the revs a bit. I've also noticed it's a bit harsher on the hands at higher revs leaving you with that buzzing sensation we all love.

2 Things that I dont like though but was warned in reviews are the mirrors aren't worth a squirt of piss for anything else than a good look at your own elbows and the rear break really need to be stomped on to get it working.

For now though I'm happy as a pig in shit and think this will keep me happy for a little while to come.

Cheers to everyone who offered their opinions in my earlier thread.

now to the pics ...............

Very nice looking bike you got there. I hope you get lots of fun out of it Smile

It's too clean though. Go get some dirt on it!

are you missing a peice of fairing??

usually theres a shield panel (v piece i think) that protects the downpipes from stone chips etc.

Hey Matt. I just went and checked a few pics and none of them have it.
I can see where ya mean and I think you're right it looks like it would do better to have something there even if it's a mesh of some sort.

Had me in a panic there for a sec.

Just went and topped up the coolant ....fcuk me it's a pain in the arse.

Remove small fairing pieces just below the riders seat, then remove the riders seat and then tild back the fuel tank. Shocked
All just to top up the freakin coolant.

That really is taking the piss.

Very, very nice. I'd like to see how one compares to the last model as it looks a lot heavier but it looks much more comfortable tho.

Over the 03-04 model it's picked up 3 kg but also gained 5hp as well.
There is 0.1 second difference over the quarter with the 03 being quicker.

As for comfort I wsa shocked how good a ride it is and how the miles come easy. The seat is excellent and very well padded.
I don't give much hope to any pillions doing any decent miles on the back though.

Figure it's not really made for 2 up since there are no grab rails and instead they've given you a lap timer and stop watch on the dash which gives you a good idea of it's intended purpose.
