Hey all, first post here, I have a 1200 bandit, looking to mod it slightly. I've seen a couple of vids, im mainly wondering about the arse end of it - how do you go about changing it, is there a 'norm' sort of thing like a standard fit off a different bike or is it all custom work? Similar to the tail in the two vids below.

Also do you know any good websites for parts and what not?

Cheers in advance.

nothing is direct bolt on,
that would just take all the fun out of it Very Happy
the tail on that bandit in the vid is an old r1 seat unit, done to death in my opinion, but still looks good,
best place for advice is
www.streetfightersclub.co.uk/
or https://streetfighters-mcc.co.uk/
both good forums,

welcome to the wonderful world of fighters Very Happy enjoy your stay

its just a matter of either a subframe from the donor bikes tail and chopping off your old frame and welding lugs in place,
or making a new subframe/altering the original, either way you'll need welding done
this one he made his own sub frame

as above, the mv augusta tail is sex Very Happy
i have a speed triple tail on my fighter,
do a search through ebay for "tail unit" and "seat unit"
there is a german company that makes tails for 59 quidlies Very Happy
and they are good quality,
or just look at pics of bikes untill you find a tail that you like the look of, and order a tail unit for that bike from the german seller off ebay.

as for price of welding... its not what ya know its who Very Happy
the price of the rods and a box of beer, or upto 30 quid an hour labour,
best thing to do, is find a small (like a 2 or 3 man workshop) machine shop welders and go and have a word with them, you'll find out of the few guys that work there normally 1 at least will ride Wink
and get them do do little alterations at first, when you pay them, drop off some beer as well, you'll find the prices drop the more times you visit Very Happy
Thumbs Up kiwi tricks from way back lol

i've had a look on ebay, some cheap seat units etc to be had, 30 an hour isnt so bad, how many hours labour would it 'usually' take? You got any pics of your fighter?
