Right, a small thing I noticed the other day that kind of galvanised my position.

Basically, I think my main joy on two wheels is ragging the shit out of them to get from A - B. Doesn't matter the weather, the distance or the motive.

Going to Tesco the other day, about 2 miles away at best, with a pillion, in the rain.... Should be shit, right?

But no, I loved it. Wheelspins, wheelies, general controlled stupidity for a few minutes, get some shopping, stupidity on the way back.

The more I think about it, the more I prefer that to going out for an hour and killing a tank fully leathered up with kneedowns and flat out runs.

Infact my best rides always seem to be the long runs along good roads TO GET SOMEWHERE. I have no idea why though, but am I the only one who prefers that to setting out just to play, or to ride in groups etc.

The only reason my bike comes out of the garage is to get ragged sensless.

Shopping in the rain, no thanks I've got a car for that. Laughing

Yea theres something in it,

I also find i enjoy the ride more when im going somewhere specific,

Perhaps when we go out for a hoon with no destination something psychologically changes ie we expect it to be more fun, whereas a mundane journey which gets interesting is a nice surprise... /shrug

Riding in the rain is fine as long as you arent caught out and you have all your gear on... Thumbs Up

The best rides have no purpose or destination, just to explore, rag and have fun.

Its all about enjoying the best of what you are doing be it in the rain, snow or blazing sun.

Get out there, ride have fun.

What I mean, is even if its just a ride back from work while filtering its brings a smile to my face knowing I will be home and have a cuppa before they have got close to home.

Hooning with your mates at speed, chasing them through the bends general pratting about around town with a mix of tricks is amazing fun.

Riding by myself has got exceptionally boring all though it doesn't mean I can't have fun. Wheelies, stoppies, baiting in the poh-leese its all good fun.

Stunting is next Mr. Green https://img72.imageshack.us/img72/2406/esede1.gif

I like nothing more than getting the bike out, starting him up and setting off in a direction, with no destination in mind, or meeting up with a good friend and going to our usual places for a drink and lunch.
To me it is just fun to be out on the bike, alone or accompanied, finding roads I have never used before and will probably never find again. I don't pull wheelies or stoppies, I just ride to the best of my ability and enjoy the time away from everyday, routine life.

Granted...

But.

Who else seems to prefer ragging it to the shops/grans/mates/uni etc over a planned ride for the sake of it, or just bimbling off somewhere?

Riding with no destination is pretty sucky for me, but anything with a fixed point of arrival, be it 'legit' or just for the sake of it (group ride-outs) is sweet.

It's impossible to believe that the sperm that created you beat the 1,000,000 others. Wink

Suzuki's don't rot, I have seen my mates ZX6R's and 600rr's get furry and start rusting over winter or at the first sign of water. My GSXR and RF was fine.

Granted the RF was just a tank and could rival the German Tiger II in terms of hardcoerness.

Sperm doesn't actually create you, its a fertiliser for the egg, granted the baby's DNA is 50 % mum and 50 % dad, but that doesnt mean the sperm created you.

Yeah but the son of God was also nailed to a cross and then set on fire and covered in a thousand tons of camel poo.

Don't ruin my fantasy - I bet McGee loves a bit of slap and tickle.

I get more satisfaction out of getting from point a to point b, than riding for something to do, and I prefer a group ride out, to just riding around on my own. My favourite thing is to go somewhere new in the UK on holiday.

I don't really ride fast, except occasionally in a straight line.
