My brother is 23 with 3 convictions on his licence. Rolling Eyes

He bought a Gixxer 600 K3 last year thinking the insurance wouldnt be too bad as it had been 2 years since the last conviction, but it was and still is way too high. It has sat in the garage since.

It has been 3 years since the last conviction. Insurance companies ask about any convictions within the last 5 years.

Is there any companies which ask for any convictions within the last 3 years instead of 5?

Im sure i've seen one somewhere while looking for quotes but cant remember which one!

Help please!

The only insurance company that asked for 3 instead of 5 was Direct Line when I was phoning round for car insurance, I think they do bike insurance too

5 years is industry standard.

I've read somewhere that https://www.quotelinedirect.co.uk/bike/ do cheaper premiums for convictions but never tried them personally.

he really shoulda have considered insurance prices first...
what i'm doing is riding a 125 for a year post bike nicked claim, so i can get an extra 1ncb racked up after losing 2 of them because of my missing 400.that way, i get to ride around still, the fiancee gets her bike that she's wanted for a while, and insurance money for a gixxer 750 k7 in a years time becomes manageable!

Give Tesco bike insurance a go too.

for in 10 days time (21 on 23rd)

I have- LC20 14/04/2004
CD10-04/10/2006
SP30 31/12/2007

1 claim-5/08/2008

2 years NCB, but WITH car licence.

K3 TPFT we are looking at £550 as with most supersports between 2003 and 08
most sport 100's 200-2006 £650ish TPFT

On the phone quote, the guy failed to input a years previous riding exp. and 1yrs NCB as well! (Found this out when a letter with the quot on arrived!)

That 19y/o, '00 CBR600F, SP30, 1yr NCB, bike on private property + immobiliser and smartwater.

Thanks for all the advice but I found a way around it.

Went onto "TheBikeInsurer" and put in a start date of 3 years since the last conviction (20th May) and got a quote of £550!

Apparently the quotes go way down after 3 years!

He will be taking that next month.
