Um, when you adjusted the rev screw was it warmed up?
What I did was find a nice long straight 60 road with next to noone on it.
Rode for 10 minutes, got to the end of this road, put bike on sidestand in neutral, fiddled with idle screw to reduce it, rode to the other end of the road. Repeat til the idle is correct. I don't know why, but you are supposed to use the full range of the throttle a couple of times while you are adjusting the idle.
If this doesn't help I'd see about (when cold) gently pushing the choke bar you can see on the carbs with it fully on and fully off, to see if theres any give there and if the choke cable is working or not.

EDIT: Bollocks, just saw you are wanting it ready for mot. Well then get it warmed up so it doesnt need choke (ideally run it up and down your road?) then put it on sidestand and fiddle with the idle screw, then blip the throttle to just before redline a couple times, see how much it idles at now, then repeat 'til right. ____________________ Previous: GSF600, FZR600 x2, ZXR750, XT600 Tenere, CB125, CZ125, ETZ 250, ER5, CCM R30, DRZ400, RF600x4, RF900x2, GS500, VTR1000F, 640 SMC, CB250 NIGHTHAWK, GT550x3, GPX750 TE610, CB500, X11x2, SV650, ZING 125, TL1000R,CB250 Superdream, CBR1100XX |
