My NSR project is being readvertised as its really annoying me due to its poor running.

I am asking a straight £500 + £120 for collection/delivery if required
I will take offers and maybe PX, infact On this rare occasion i'll even consider things like games consoles Very Happy

Right basically, its a 1990 honda nsr (Alcast/twin headlight model) with a 1999 foxeye lump in it.

It became a project when a prospective buyer came and snapped my throttle cable.

Now i bought this bike in october thinking "Hey look a cheap learner legal 125" but i didnt think of the problems it would cause me and the past owner was a pratt as far as bikes went. I've sorted out 90% of the problem but due to having a new bike coming this week i would like to get rid of this for the insurance money.

The bike does run, however i can't get it to idle anymore, ever since i had the carb appart, the idle screw doesnt seem to be doing anything either. Now, I believe it could be the air/fuel mixture as when i cover the air intake the revs go up, suggesting there is too much air being taken in somewhere.

My theory is backed up by the fact that went you open up the throttle the big becomes slightly boggy and struggles to rev cleanly, however it will rev to the redline.

The fairings where in a very bad state when i bought the bike, asif it had been dropped a few times, it wasnt advertised as this however.

The fairings i got with the bike are off and are being sanded of paint, however i want all the paint off and have taken it back to bare plastic on some of the panels, i have also began to fill the panels.

The bike is nearly sorted and there is no reason it isnt rideable if you keep the revs on at a stop, but id rather make sure it runs perfectly if im going to sell it on ebay.

I am going to change the jetting ever so slightly to see if this makes the bike run any better.

Well things that I have done:

Choke cable replaced
Throttle cable replaced
Carb and jets cleaned
Exhaust decoked
Head gasket replaced
Gearbox (RHS) gasket replaced
Starter motor rebuilt
Adjusted the oil pump into correct alignment
Filled and bled the coolant
Changed the engine oil
Replaced exhaust gasket
Begun to repair the damaged fairings

Things that the past owner has/had done:

Replaced the rear shock
Replaced the fork seals
Replaced the 14,000 milage engine for a lower, foxeye model engine with 5000 miles
'Custom' Paint job
