when i left my bike outside my house i bought a fixed ground anchor and a big heavy duty chain lock and that worked a treat people always walking past no one attempted stealing it.  |

Been said before but I'll repeat anyhow.
If you can't put in a ground anchor or wall anchor get some plastic tubs. Fill with a bit of rubble and concret. You can get ready mix stuff to help you. As you put in the concrete put in an anchor or some form of metal peg with a ring on it. If it's a peg try putting on (twisting/screwing/drill/etc) some wires to form an X at the bottom, this is to prevent it being pulled straight out.
Then get a decent 16 or 19mm chain and put it through the tub(s) and round the bike. If your tubs are like plantpots you could make it a feature so less of an eyesore (depends where you live of course).
This trick has even been done with oil drums so there's plenty of scope.
