Hello,

The chat bot hasn't connected to IRC for yonks now... I'm convinced its because Ste has set himself as an op in the #bikechatforums IRC room.

Anyway, some of us can't install IRC clients on our work PC's, so it would be nice for chat to be bridged again!

Thanks,

Mark.

OK . Back on this one again. The firewall at my office won't allow IRC clients through, and web IRC clients are banned from Undernet servers because of 'malicious usage' apparently.

Kooooorrrrnnnn, can ya fix it pleeeeeeezeeee? Smile

I only ever see it saying 7 users, none of those chat even amongst one another. (Ste, Wave G etc).

Yes, thats because it is broken. It is showing the users that were online at the time it broke.

And to whoever said I should do some work - I was talking about lunchtime!

That explains a lot!
Especially the bit about no one ever responding to me Smile

That won't work because its a Java client that tries to connect to Undernet via port 6667. The work firewall blocks 6667 and other commonly used IRC ports.

I've looked at other web clients that use CGI:IRC, but undernet doesn't allow CGI:IRC connections because of 'misuse'.

The ideal solution would be to fix the chat bot! Very Happy

So, why can't Ste unset what he set, or Korn pop on and fix it?

Shay, you're just on at the wrong times.

I've investigated it further since then, and it isn't Ste that's causing the issue.

I would guess that its actually either related to Undernet banning CGI:IRC connections, or the /quote pass 12132 thing that you have to enter to prove you aren't an automated connection.

In either case its probably pretty broken until Korn fixes it. But as it isn't related to WoW, it might not get done for a while. I would hazard a guess that it involves some fairly intensive development work. No chat at work for me then ! Sad

Using mIRC, to get round having to do that each time you connect add this to your remote file (Tools > Script Editor > Remote tab). Thumbs Up
Code:
on *:snotice:*quote*pass*:{
 noop $regex($1-,/quote\spass\s(\S+)/i)
 quote PASS $regml(1)
}

Doubt it'd take much time for making the IRC script do the same thing but it still won't happen. Laughing

I could ask Korn nicely...
