I want to ride around the coast during the summer holidays.
It's 3000 miles and I was hoping to do it on my RX-S. I would have to do it on this as to afford to go on the trip I wouldn't be able to afford a bike as it would be roughly £200 on petrol and 2t oil and £100 food (lots of cold tinned soup ) and maybe camp site costs (unless I rough it and don't shower for 14 days, lovely)
I wanted to do it over 14 days meaning I would have to average 215 miles a day. Even less if possible.
I'm not too bothered about the scenery and stuff, I just want to go on a nice long ride where I can leave everything behind.
I thought a coastal ride would be better than say, touring europe as if anything goes wrong over there I'm in serious trouble. Plus this will be my first experience of touring. It would also mean that if I decided I wasn't enjoying it I would never be too far away from home (Manchester).
Do people think that it would be too fast and the RX-S wouldn't cope or is it a sensible idea? |

I think if you've never rode long distances before, your better off doing some shorter rides locally.
That way you'll have a rough idea what the bike is capable of.
Oh and i allways" rough it " when im going away for a few day's riding,it just means getting washed down in streams you camp next to (does get a little cold though, and your little man goes, well little really,so dont let anyone see you )
It's a lot more fun camping out in woodlands/forest's on your journey, camp sites are shit. |

Search for Jamie's thread about JOG to LE on a scooter, most of the answers should be found within. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |
