hey all, I advertised this on here a little while ago with a leaking sump, since fixed.
Its a 99 bandit 600 faired (bikini fairing) that I bought september/november time off an established member on here.

I took it for MOT today, and it failed on 5 things. My head hasn't been screwed on straight 'cause I found out on saturday I am losing my job. Can't afford to put it through. 3 of them are just easy things where I haven't had my brain working right and just ignored them.

1) front master cylinder needs a screw, I completely forgot to put it in, so it was technically not secure.

2) nearside rear direction indi not working. It does work, the bulb was slightly loose where I hadn't fitted it properly and of course when he tapped it it stopped, tapped again it did.

3) headlight aim too low

And the two that I can't afford to do:

4) Front brake discs excessivly worn. This is the problem. You can get discs for not so much on ebay, But I can't actually afford to get them and get them fitted (don't have the know how or money to start with)

5) Front roller brake test indicates a binding brake. The guy said it was only the right brake and it might clear itself up with the fitting of new/part worn discs. (I can't do this myself again, and the seals+labour is going to be too much)

Advisories:
1) Forks he wasn't sure if were leaking or not, they aren't it was just some cleaning shit I forgot to wipe off, he agreed after typing the note

2) rear lower rear suspension bearing has slight free play, not a big problem, just the shock getting old, he said it can be ignored for around a further 5k, or replaced for a second hand.

3)drive chain worn but not excessive, again good for another 3k or so.

Good points:

Good quality new pads all round
New rear disc (700 miles ago)
Tyres both have only done around 1k mainly in the wet.
Still getting 120-150 to a tank
Headstock bearings are good, had tighten and relube not so long ago
Had seat recovered, and anti slip pillion matting stuff.
have renntec grab rail/topbox set I can chuck in for an extra £30
All bulbs got replaced not very long ago..
Viper end can, not even mentioned in MOT but sounds very nice.
New indicator stalk front left
Tax for 11 months
Always starts on the button
Renthal copy bars

Bad points:
Mot shizzle mentioned above
Little bit of camchain rattle when engine is first started but clears up after 20 seconds or so
Paintwork is a little tatty

In summary, if you want a hack and know your mechanical stuff, with about £70-180 quid this will be a reliable commuter, or you could use it as a base for a streetfighter/stunter. Pic is of when I just got it, I can send recent ones to anyone interested.

£450 ono

Pyro

EDIT: Its got another weeks MOT from last year so you can ride away now (not that most people will care about it rly Wink )
