I am starting to like it now - think it's just the lights that but me off the road version!

I think the lights on the road bikes are love 'em or hate 'em. I love 'em Smile I think they are original, and very smart

Track/ race team bikes will always look smarter, cos they have had so much spent on them, and that is thier flagship almost.

I think i still prefer the new cbr to the 999 though

If it bothers people that much they can put there own custom lights on because the bike is a better made bike than the 996

The main thing that I didn't like about the stock 999 was the rear end...an aftermarket can/exhaust definately improves things IMO...but after seeing the bike in the flesh, it looks very "bitty", i.e. the fairing seems to be made up of loads of bits, which don't look very secure Confused

i preferred the 916 look, or to be specific the last incarnation of it, the 998

absolutely stunning looking bikes, but i dont think ducati are ever gonna improve it, only go in a different direction which is what they did with the 999

apparently the mechanics of the bike are far better, with better power delivery and a smoother ride, and apparently its more comfortable than its older brother as well

but..

none of this matters, because the japanese bikes are still superior technologically better engineered and definately more reliable (speaking in general terms) and if we are honest, you dont buy a ducati for anything but the looks/reputation/image (at least the superbike range anyway)

wouldnt say no to the above though, but dont expect me to pay for it Smile

A company has built replica parts of the GP version to go on the stock 999 and it looks amazing! MCN reviewed it a few months ago and its the only design which is on the same 'looks' level as the 996/8 etc.

Hmmm, looks better in the race colours but the exposed frame/subframe still looks very messy.
