Well I finially gave up on taking the chain off the NSR myself and decided to take it to a Bike shop in Dartford on Saturday, who quoted me £20 and for it to be done within the Hour.

I got there about 10.15am and they told me that they had a few big jobs on and it wouldn't get started on until after Lunch. So come back about 4.30pm. Well not wanting to hang around Dartford Town centre I decided to make my way back to Greenhithe and on several attempts to get on buses and being told they dont go the way I was I decided to walk. (Did I mention its about a four mile walk??!)

So off I trotted (I'm in my bike gear and yes I did get blisters) on the long journey home. Anyways on about halfway home a Yellow SV650 drives past and I notice he has the same Yellow and Black Shark helmet as me.
He dissappears and I carry on walking and talking to the Horses in the field I am walking next to.

Next thing I hear a horn and look across to see the SV guy parked up calling me over. So I cross the road and he asks if I am OK and If I have broken down, I tell him I have put my bike in and have been walking for the last hour and a half. He says "Fucking Hell!" and offers me a lift so naturally not wanting another Hour walk accept jump on the back and he drives me home.

What a Guy!!!!

Man I Love being a BIKER!!!!!

Mikey.

ps If your still reading Thank you but shouldnt you be working?? Very Happy

pps. He pulled away so quickly I almost came off the back coz I was holding onto the grab rails Embarassed

I was sat by my bike for a bit, then just laid down. I could've been really hurt and got off the bike then died Very Happy I was also really bored/cold at this time and it was getting too dark to be running in front of cars again.

Maybe if you had lain down and put make-up on instead of pretending to be dead you might have got "lucky"!

Yeah Zak, a couple also stopped when I ran out of fuel on the M1 a while back.

yes, ish, but they are also very small people (id like to question the designer of my footpegs on this) Smile so its all relative

to be honest picking up a bike is all about method, if its a scoot or a harley, you gotta do it the right way or you wont get anywhere, its like putting a bike on a centre stand

my CBR is deceptively heavy (say nothing G its 10 years old Razz) i can pick it up, but it took me a few mins to think "how is it best to do this"

everyone protests that you're supposed to picka bike up by placing one hand on the handlbar and another at the rear (subframe or grabrail). Personally that ain't how I do it. I've picked up my TZR and a 97 CBR600 by taking both handlebars. I didn't really think about it tbh and it wasn't particularly difficult.

As most of you have said it is more to do with technique, although brute force does help. I once dropped my VFR while sat on it (I reached for my phone without getting off the bike Embarassed ) and was able to pick it back upright from between my legs.
When I crashed it I was able to get it upright in a small ditch and from there had to push/drive it out, (that was hard work) and not a single car driver stopped to help me drag it outta the ditch. A tractor driver even went passed me and looked as if to say 'Whats he doing down there?' then carried on driving
