I recently topped my oil up (crank case) and I had to use 1/2 litre to get it level Confused my fault cause I didn't check from when I got it.

About a week later I'Ve noticed the level drop to the minimum amount allowed? There is no leak that I know of cause I keep it in the garage and have noticed no oil on the ground.

Anyone know why this could be? (Yamaha SR125)

Cheers for any advice!

Hi

Probably burning a bit. My old CB100N (years ago) used virtually no oil for about the first 500 miles after an oil change, then drank the stuff like a wino in a brewery

Give the bike an oil change and keep an eye on it

All the best

Keith

mine drinks it also

some people say the CBR250 does anyway, others say no 4 stroke should use any oil, but its goin somewhere inside my bike, cos its not leaking

its not as expensive as topping up a 2 stroke though, so i can live with it Smile

Mine uses a lot of oil. I was told that it is normal for a Single to burn a bit of oil.

It has a slight leak too, but there's hardly any oil comes out of there. My side stand has a dribble of oil down it when the bike gets its weekly clean
