Hi, i need a new rear tyre. I have a bt014 on the front, done less than a thousand miles so will last a fair bit longer.
The plan was to fit a bt021 on the rear for a bit more mileage, ive been quoted £110 fitted for one of these.
But ive just been quoted £150 fitted for a pair of Continental Road Attacks.... If i go for the Conti's i'll have a matched pair, plus i could bung the bt014 front on ebay or something.
Im just trying to decide really whether to save £40 and just buy a rear (and have non-matching tyres, but ive heard it would be ok) or spend a bit more and have two new ones.
I like the bt014, it gives lots of grip, but not very much feel.
Has anyone used Road Attacks?
Cheers Thumbs Up

I have the road attacks fitted to my bandit 600, i really like them. Previously i have BT020's and i prefer the road attacks, they grip well in all conditions for me and seem to be wearing well. That said i have not put on massive miles on them as i have been at uni and don't use the bike so much as i used to; have ridden em in all weather though and feel fine to me.

Just had Conti Road attacks put on about 1000 miles ago. They are brilliant. You'll not go wrong with them. Had also been on bt020, which seemed to get me knocked about all over the place in wind. The Conti's grip like shit to a blanket. Absolute confidence in them, whatever the weather. I have got a lot of trust in these now.

So much improved the feel of my bike that I'm going to keep hold of it for another year. Didn't realise the old girl had a few more tricks up her sleeve.

Harold_Shand's theory might be the best explanation.

I had Conti's on my Gixxer and absolutely loved them, very confidence inspiring.

I now have bt020's on my Fazer and must say I am not impressed by them. I don't know if it's because I've commuted through the winter and don't know how they feel at much of an angle or whether it's the Fazer itself, but as soon as they need replacing I'll be swapping for either the Conti's or the Michelin 2 compound tyre...

I put Road Attacks on my ZX6R and loved them. Gripped really well, were great in the wet and after 2500 miles there was hardly any wear. They also didn't square off (AWB - do lots of commuter miles)

Bit of an update...
I was all set for a pair of road attacks but ive managed to blag a new bt021 (well, its done 150 miles) for £60. It would have been rude to refuse to be honest.
Cheers for all the advice though, i think next time i will try some road attacks Thumbs Up
