You would get a GS500, ER5 or CB500 for this sort of money. Sometimes it may not be worth the bother though if you have to spend a load extra after you got it.

At that sort of price range best bet is to scour local ads papers and the like when they come out for any good deals.
Don't limit yourself to specific models, but go for good value for money - ring up as soon as possible as the ones worth having will get snapped up quickly.

Forums and ebay are also worth keeping an eye on, but be very careful with ebay.

Im wondering what the "Kaiser" is, some kind of german emperor bike?

A GS500 fits your needs perfectly, cheap, loads of parts and you will have to get your hands dirty at some point, although for 600 quid, you should get a good runner

The 'kaiser' is a chinese 'sports bike' if im correct, its a lowly 4t cruiser thing that they class as a sports bike but is complete sheit tbh.

The GS500 can be fine, but as above, at £600 you might get a terrible example, or an amazing example; I'd base your choices on what is available, not limit yourself to specific models, which might see you with a terrible example, as that is all that is available.

The GS500 is a good bike if you can get one cheaply, If you start approaching the 1 grand mark you would be better off with a bandit...

For £1000 you could probably get a Bandit 1200.

Don't think the insurance is that much either. I just did a quote for a Bandit 1200 when I'm 17 and it came back at £410 TPFT or £390 TPO.

That's cheaper than the quote I got for a GS500 Laughing
