(Catchy title don't you think)

I was just wondering what the name of the bearings on the back wheel, behind the brake disk and the just inbedded into the main wheel on the spindle/shaft are?

Cheers,

Matt

Catchy, but not very descriptive Razz.

And, they are called (drum roll)...
Wheel bearings!

Smile

'Rear wheel bearings' if you to be specific. It generally pays to be specific about which ones - on a sports bike there will probably be one set by the disc, one set the other side and another set on the sprocket carrier.

Yeh I sort of was thinking that but today when I was doing some work on my bike my neighbour popped round and he called them something different but I can't remember what now.

Any ideas on where to get some for a Derbi GPR 50?

Derbi dealer, local general bike parts place, bike garage, etc.
If they don't have them listed and you can get them out, they can usually 'match' them - definitely if you can find somewhere that just sells general bearings - probably get the same ones cheaper too.

Roller by any chance ?

Or needle, not that you see them in the rear wheel.

+1 for finding the No or even taking the old one to your local bearing factor for a cheaper option Thumbs Up

I used to work at Brammer (formerly BSL) they have branches all round the UK and even if they don't have your bike listed, if you can knock the bearings out, or get the number off then they'll be able to match them up.

If it's a standard ball bearing with seals the number will be along the lines of: 6205-2RS If it's a tapered roller, and I wouldn't have thought yours would be but you never know, it'll be something like: LM67449/LM67110 for inner + outer race.

The first should cost £5+ and latter £10+ Thumbs Up
