Hi All ...

Further on from my previous post. We got the bike started after changing the coils and CDI control box.

It runs good however it cuts out when it gets hot though, could this just require a good warm through to clear everything? It runs for some time but will eventually cut out. I think the carbs need balancing however.

This however isn't the main issue. The problem is that the clutch and gears are extremely stiff and the clutch doesn't seem to be engaging. When the clutch mechanism is bolted back on (external mechanism) the clutch lever becomes extremely stiff, so something inside isn't engaging properly.

Next are the gears, it wont go down into a gear but it will go up, but its trying to engage as if the clutch wasn't in even though we've now got it strapped in.

If someone could help as MOT is due Monday and we're so close but yet so far Laughing and this is hopefully one of the last issues.

Thanks all in advance,

Luke.

Hi

Is there an adjuster on the sprocket cover for the clutch? Might need that fiddling with to get the actuating arm at the right angle.

All the best

Keith

Not 100% on that, there's a mechanism showing on the outside, but not sure if it's adjustable.

I'm still getting used to this bike as it uses some older methods due to its age than im used to.

Also noticed the peg that the gear change mechanism attaches to (which then the foot lever attaches to) also pushes in and out of the engine case and causing what was a light squeak trying to change gear into a proper clutchless attempt at changing gear Shocked ...

P.S. Keith, I really need to pop down yours with them bleedin tools I've had for too long ... Will contact you soon about them Embarassed
