Kind of hard to explain.

While on the stand and you start it the chain will knock and jump and generally make a lot of noise, but I can't tell where its coming from. If its the chain itself or its knocking on something.

The chain is tight and not over tightened. But when your actually riding the bike it feels like its really lose and jumping under braking. The chain isn't even at half way point for tightening.

It really knocks hard and rattles on the stand to as if its jumping off the front sprocket.

Just kinda looking for ideas before i start taking the thing apart again.

If I tightened the chain any more it would be to tight its not even at the half way mark on the swing arm etc.

Video of the problem here.

The video is to try and help my explanation, bikes running rough because of the lack of can and the fact its fueled for said can but it still does the same with the can.

The slight tapping noise in the video in person sounds much worse from the the chain.

Did you check the free play of the chain with you sitting on it?

My bike does similar when the rear wheel is off the ground. When the rear end is at the limit of it travel the chain occasionally catches on the edge of the chain guide at the front of the swingarm. This means that when I run it on the stand the chain jumps all over the place, rattling and banging like a good 'un.

Take it to bits, it could be a seized chain link, stretched chain, front sprocket, gearbox bearing, rear sprocket or a back caliper not releasing. You should have the lots in pieces in an hour.

Hi mate, going by the vid I would say you have a bad tight spot on your chain. While it's on the stand turn the rear wheel and keep checking the chain to see if it tightens at a certain spot. If your sprockets look like a saw blade (hooked teeth) their done. check front sprocket is secure, as a rule of thumb if you can lift the chain off the back sprocket far enough to insert a pencil between the sprocket and chain, then the chain is done regardless of how much adjustment is left. Worst case scenario New chain and sprockets.

Maybe it is the chain and sprocket but mine still does the same with new C&S kit fitted. Take a look at the swingarm chain guide.
