Hi

Which weather forecast on the net tends to be the most accurate?

Metcheck?

Cheers.

I have found Metcheck to be the most unreliable, but then BBC got it wrong, said it was raining in my area, looked out of window - sun Shocked

I have found the best thing to do is go outside and look up, if you get wet, then it is raining otherwise it is dry Laughing

Bear in mind that most weather forecasts on the web show the predominant weather for the day. I often find that the weather summary on the BBC "red button" gives a pretty good idea of what's going on, although it's very general.

I havnt found one yet. But usually check the bbc but they are wrong sometimes as it was meant to be heavy showers here and no sun and the sun was out blue skys and not a cloud in sight all day. I just go with the flow now.

But don't they all, including the BBC, get their weather forecasts from the Met Office?
So, might as well get it from the Met Office then. Cool
They're still wrong half the time.

Best thing for knowing what is happening currently is the met office rain radar animation thing, gives a decent idea of whether its worth going out for a ride in a particular direction.

Naturally the more in advance you want to know, the more useless the forecasts become.

I use the Met Office, Metcheck, the BBC and local amateur forecasters, to get a balanced view of the forecast. The BBC don't include wind gust speeds which is poor in my opinion, the Met Office forecast will be amended throughout the day, but Metcheck seem to be more explanatory.

Do a search on google for amateur forecasters in your area, there's nearly always a hand-glider/gliding enthusiast who will be posting for others.

Oh and if you live near the coast Wind Watcher is good for wind speed.

I have just added 3 different weather gadjets to my desk top, (one at a time) and every one of them was wrong! suppose to be sunny outside and slight cloud and its pouring down and windy here Confused I have the accu one on it and it says sun. Couldnt be anymore wrong.

this is the one I use for kite boarding, Ive found it accurate all the time.
Click on the weather station nearest you and it will give you a 4 or 5 day forecast

I generally use the good old BBC's 'UK Weather Centre' animation thing. Generally seems to be fairly accurate for me - esp if you check it that day - (I like the fact that you see the rain fronts etc,) but as with all prediction methods goes totally to pot if you try to look forward too much - it's anyones guess!

Cheers, Stu
