www.okas.co.uk/links.php I got some in there

your 21... fuck the NSR, go and do DAS Cool Cool

and that sound quite a bit if your 21 for tpft. wot type of area do you live? is that garaged?

and was that quote online? if so, take about 20% off to give you an idea of what you will get over the phone to insurers

Im 17, and with CIA, paying just over a grand full comp

Maybe thats not quite so bad then.

Might well be worth looking into some alarms, see if the premium goes down for it. And also some heavy iron work to attach the bike to something unmovable like a lamp post.

As ste said, the Alarm can reduce your premium a bit in some cases (has to be thatcham aproved though).
Do consider doing your test whihc should also reduce your premium... though I seem to remember you saying you're picking it up next week.

Your best bet is to ring as many companies as possible. For my zx6 I rung over 30 companies and eventually got it down to £500 from about £800.

I'm using Cofield -0800 2945 666. But i would recomend you get yourself a copy of MCN and just call every company there. I did that i took me about 2.5 hours Exclamation But i got it down from £2000 - £600 Exclamation

Mate, tell them it's garaged. If it gets nicked at night just tell them you got it out and nipped back inside the house to get something!

I got my NSR insurance with H&R 0845 130 2800. I'm 22 with zero NCB, passed my test in June 2001, it's a spanker (will be registered on Saturday), I've had my car licence since 97 but had an accident in my car last year. I live in S80 which is a pretty bad area for insurance, although probably not quite central London! My premium is £380 TFPT. Other quotes I had were in the region £480 - £900 so I was quite happy to stumble across these guys!

If I hadn't had the accident it would have been about £100 less (I wasn't going to say anything but my details popped up on their computer!)

You can make it a little cheaper by not using it for work, not carrying a pillion and reducing the number of miles you tell them you'll do a year.

right, it gets nicked outside your house. they might well send someone over to check, and then they notice your lack of garage.

reducing number of miles it also good, but again your fucked if anything happens, and they go and look at the bike.

it depends really if you want the insurance to be able to use it if anything happens, or its just there as a formality so you can be on the road

Dont do that, all that'll happen is if it gets nicked they wont pay out. In which case, you might as well have gone TPO and saved the money.

As above, alarms, immobilisers, big fuck off chains are good. Bike covers are good too, so ppl cant see what you've got stashed under there.

You can also elect to pay a larger excess... that brings your premium down but decreases the money you get if it's nicked, or means you actually have to pay some money if someone claims against you.

Just call round. Everywhere. Search back for a thread by VIPER a couple of weeks ago that gives a huge list of insurers and the quotes they gave her.

well called about. quite a few wont even bother to insure me cos i have no garage Sad Embarassed
cia quoted me £725, but they say my bike can only be insured up to £2500. Rampants quoted me £890 for covering the full £3000 for my bike. should i be cheap and and go with cia, or pay the extra bit and go with rampants (yes i nkow ive probably spelt there name wrong). not too sure how safe this area is for bikes, but i cant remember any cars being stolen recently, and in general its usually quiet round here (which is strange for central london Confused )

Try www.clickquote.com Theyre nice and cheap.

The first year I was insured on my NSR I got it dirt cheap cos they got it wrong! They classed it as group 2, instead of group 7! Rolling Eyes
