Hi all,

First post. I live in Dumfries and I'm considering planning a last minute trip over to the North West for raceday.

Can get over to Belfast and back for £39. I get into Belfast about 8 am on the Saturday morning and I know what I'm doing in getting from there up to the Triangle... either taking a helmet and hitching a lift or getting the train to Coleraine and then bus/walking the last couple of miles.

But getting back's the problem. There's a ferry at 6.30 am on Sunday so it'll be a case of making my way back to Belfast overnight or after the racing on Saturday evening. Can anyone advise of the latest train/bus times?

Alternatively, there's a ferry late Sunday afternoon - which will mean camping overnight on the Saturday. What's the attitude to just pitching a tent in a field and/or is it worth getting into the official campsite (if there's room?). Also, just to reassure me, public transport does run over there on a Sunday?

Thanks for your help.

Alternatively, seeing as this topic doesn't seem to be getting much traffic - is there somewhere better to look/ask ?

Unfortunatley public transport is a bit sparse on a Sunday unless you're near Belfast which is the city centre.

I would offer to take you up and back down on the back of the bike mate but Im staying up there at the sisters, sorry Neutral

It is defo worth the trip though as the NW200 is a fantastic event. I would recommend you get near Metropole, one of the best places to stand Thumbs Up

Good luck mucker[/url]
