I was watching clarksons motorworld on cable tv. It must be very old as he looked young.

He was in Monaco, and went round the street circuit on a ducati 916.

Admittedly he went slowly and said he couldnt ride a bike, but he was still on a bike.

I was quite surprised .

He's obviously had some biking experience in the past.

Someone who's never ridden a motorbike before couldn't just jump on a Ducati and go, surely?

Don't see why not, a few minutes getting acquainted with the controls and a bit of instruction, you could wobble your way around a circuit. Especially someone like Clarkson who isn't exactly inexperienced with motorised things.

Can't you see the Clarkson stuff is all tongue in cheek. He has had field bikes on his farm for years and has ridden bikes before. He just says what he says for effect. It is his persona. Yes he doesn't think bikes are better than cars, same as we don't think cars are better than bikes. He is a car journo and has to pander to car users and the boy racer brigade. He knows he couldn't do the stuff on a bike that he does in a car so he doesn't do it. Imagine doing Stars on a reasonably priced bike. They would all kill themselves.
His whole career is based on getting somebody's back up and pandering to others. Get over it.

yeah i'd agree with all that.

Even in this really early thing i watched today, he was creating little situations, and having little fake laughs. Creating entertainment and drama where there is none or there wouldnt be with another presenter.

i certainly didnt know he has field bikes
