Now that i've finally got the money to buy my first bike, i've been doing abit of window shopping, my budget is around 2500 pounds, which by the looks of it will get me no further than a 2003 model which is fine, infact i was suprised by that( this is just what i've seen on ebay and bike trader...ftw. )
but they all seem to be fecking blue and white, and the odd rossi rep or something, i'd like a black one and the only ones i've come across are crappy DIY paint jobs and only the later models seem to come in black, did they actually make other/better colour schemes on the older r6's ? i just want to know whether to keep looking if there are some out there or stop wasting my time basically Surprised

Red and white, and blue I think where the only old colours, the only ones I've seen anyway, I think there is also a silver.

My fav R6 paint is was the 2001 but with a black undertray, think it was limited edition as you don't really see many. Good luck on finding the fairings tho, i was after the mid panels but no luck.

Not too sure about the silver R6's tho, doesn't seem to go.

Only the 05 was the old shape that came from the factory in full black. So unless you get one that's been resprayed, or one that's had new fairings bodged to the old bike, you won't find one unfortunately.

ah knackers, i'll probably go for a white/blue one then as thats probably about the best one i can get with my budget, it would be nice to save up and get a newer one in the colour i want but with it being my first bike i'll go for the cheaper one, and besides i want to make the most of summer, assuming i pass my test within the next month!
thanks for the replies Thumbs Up

Should mileage be a real issue? Surely as long as it runs nice it'd be fine as obviously you'd maintain it. Thumbs Up

yes and no.
No if its been treated like a baby. Yes if like 99.99999% of bikes it hasnt.
Its an r6, is bound to have been ragged, the engines aren't designed to last 40000 miles...
