Newbie - first post

Hey folks!

Thought i'd drop by and say hello

I'm a complete novice to the bike scene and I must say I wish I'd taken lessons years ago. I'm 25 and have had a few hot cars but nothing and I mean nothing prepared me for the rush of riding a bike (even a piddly CG125 learner!!) Currently without a bike as i've only done my test so I guess I'll have a look around on here and hopefully get some advice

I love how riding slow bikes after a riding any sort of car makes it feel really fast. My friend had the biggest, cheesiest grin EVER when he rode my friends 125 up and down a car park, probably not reaching more than 10mph

good lad....im 26 and just started on 2 wheels....had some pretty quick cars....BMW 325ti sport at the mo...198bhp....thought it was quite fast.....

till i got on my liitle 400cc 700 quid 58bhp bandit!!!!

you will love it mate!!!!

TBH at your age the insurance isn't likely to be much. I'm on a Hornet (or rather was) and it's a higher insurance group than the bikes you mentioned and I'm only paying £328 TPF&T with third party coverage on other bikes. I do have 2 NCB but you are 6 years older

I'm not sure many places try to entertain a bike

Also... why did you take the A2 test if you're 25? You could've gone for the unrestricted license. Guessing you're in Ireland/not in mainland UK because of the R plates? Never seen nor heard of them

And if it's anything like here, most police don't know about it but there still is some risk. I'm restricted too, only have 10 months left (had no choice as I'm 19 at the moment). Restrictors fell out in about 6 months though. G had butter fingers Not had any problems myself but do be wary about it eh?

Ah I see. Well that sucks. I'm on 33bhp too for 2 years (from March last year). Restriction period is far too long

Decided what you going to get yet? Ran any insurance quotes?

CB500 should be perfect. Cheap, reliable, good mileage and you can still have fun and still enough power to get you into trouble
